With the recently crowned Miss America being a huge advocate for heavy weight lifting, and even my own wife ditching a lot of her previous ‘light weights’ in favour of some seriously heavy sh*t — it surely won’t be long before the myth of ‘bulky women and weights’ is firmly laid to rest.

Surprise! Weight Lifting DOESN’T Make Women Big ‘n Bulky!
It’s a super exciting time in the world of female fitness.
Now more than ever women are ditching the tiny pastel dumbbells and instead are picking up heavy things via deadlifts, squats, presses, and other bodyweight and free weight exercises.
And guess what’s happened as a result to those who do?
Despite lifting heavy weights and crushing bodyweight exercises like push-ups, chin-ups, and other movements, women are NOT getting all big ‘n bulky.

The truth is finally emerging about the real benefits of progressive resistance training. It’s proving to be one of the most effective ways to build an amazing looking body.
And if that’s not enough, women are actually having a BLAST in the process!

Nice article. This myth is still so common in a lot of gyms and the industry. People need to realise that everyone they aspire to look like lifts weights in some format.
I find it funny when women (or men) think this way. Ask people that are TRYING to bulk up, it doesn’t happen by accident!
